This beautiful set of Christmas tree decorations is entirely made by hand in a small family firm which has been doing this work for three generations. The unit, based in Kashmir, is a valuable source of employment in an area which was once dependant on tourism. The papier mache is made in the traditional ways using recycled newspaper which is soaked, moulded, dried and finally painted by hand in glowing lacquer colours. The group involved in the production of papier mache products is also building a hospital in Sri Nagar. An ideal eco xmas decoration.
